It is no secret to anyone that I am pretty much addicted to makeup, however it is often difficult to fund this addiction as I am a 17 year old with virtually no money. Therefore, I love drugstore makeup, especially when it is even cheaper than I would usually pay, but the quality of the products is like any other drugstore makeup brand.
Makeup Revolution is one of my current favourite brands, as everything is very cheap so you can get a lot for your money. About a month ago now I ordered some products from Superdrug, so I am going to show you what I bought and tell you my opinions on these products.
I was definitely pleasantly surprised by these lipsticks as I had read some very mixed reviews on the internet, however for £1 I didn't think I could go wrong. Despite the fact that these lipsticks don't last for quite as long as I'd have hoped, they are highly pigmented and quite moisturising on the lips, so if you're on a budget, I would recommend giving these a go. I definitely prefer the nude shade, as i feel like it complements my skin tone much more, however I guess that's all down to personal preference
Redemption palette- Iconic 1 (£4)
This palette is an exact dupe for the Urban Decay Naked 1 palette, as each of the shades are perfect replicas for the ones in the UD palette. As you would expect, the quality of the Makeup Revolution one isn't as good as the UD, however, if you are new to makeup, and don't want to pay £38 for a palette, the Iconic 1 is perfect for you as it is £34 cheaper and you get the same colours.
Powder Blusher- Treat (£1)
Out of everything I bought, I would say this is one of the best quality items that I got. The colour is the perfect coral shade without appearing too bright or too sheer on the cheeks, and it has become one of my go to blushers.
Flawless palette (£8)
I LOVE THIS PALETTE!!! I feel like the pigmentation of this palette is far better than that of the Redemption palette, and with 32 shades you can't really go wrong- especially for the price. All of the shadows in this palette have a nice texture and they are perfect for creating pretty much any makeup look. (Full review coming soon)
Radiance palette (£8)
This was another product that I am very pleased that I purchased, as it provides a gorgeous glow on the cheekbones, without being too intense. Despite this not being as pigmented as other highlighters (such as theBalm Mary Lou), it gives a more natural, everyday look and is perfect for if you are just starting to get into makeup. My favourite shade in the palette is the middle one.
Matte concealer stick (Medium Dark) (£1)
This was probably my least favourite item out of everything I purchased, however I bought it in a darker shade to use as a contour rather than a concealer. I found the shade of this to be very yellow and it did not work s a contour stick at all, however I recently noticed that Makeup Revolution actually stock a contour stick, so i may have to take another trip to Superdrug soon...
That is everything I purchased from Makeup Revolution over the last few months, however if you would like to see any of these products reviewed in more detail, just leave me a comment below.
Hope you all enjoyed this post
